Description Matt Bush 2006-05-09 00:11:44 UTC
I was creating the page
http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cnot_gate&redirect=no as a redirect,
and the previewed it to make sure that I had typed the name of the page to
redirect to correctly. When I hit "save changes," the browser did nothing for
about 30-45 seconds, and then generated this error message:

A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the
software. The last attempted database query was:

    (SQL query hidden)

from within function "oaiUpdatePage". MySQL returned error "1213: Deadlock found
when trying to get lock; Try restarting transaction (10.0.0.2)".

I was simultaneously creating another redirect to the same page, in a different
tab of the same window of mozilla firefox 1.0.5.3, although I did not preview
that one. That page also hung for about 30-45 seconds, and then completed
sucessfully. My internet connection has been flaking out recently, forcing me
to periodically "repair" my wireless connection. I suspect that it is due to
the fact that it is exam time, and everybody (including me) is using the
wireless in the college library.
