I think this change introduced a bug: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/96681/ The term UserProfileIntro shows up in this submission for review: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/wiki/mediawiki-cvs/408577 On en.wikipedia there is a sudden spurt of new users creating user pages at User:xxx/UserProfileIntro as can be seen in this 'everything' search on en.wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&limit=500&offset=0&redirs=0&profile=all&search=UserProfileIntro I see no other common reason for this to be occurring, nor is it apparent that the new users are aware of the issue. (I made the assumption that this was specific to the mobile app due to the title of the code review page. I hope this was correct.)
Prioritization and scheduling of this bug is tracked on Mingle card https://wikimedia.mingle.thoughtworks.com/projects/mobile/cards/1469
The change you point out has not been deployed but an early one was and this article is an artifact of an experiment we are running on beta around micro user contributions. What exactly is the bug?
See https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:UserProfile/Jumpt for an example of usage.
Forgive me, for I am not a programmer nor do I have access to the beta. I filed the report because I saw a sudden pattern of new users creating user pages at that /UserProfileInput sub page address rather than at the normal top-level address. It was only the occasional new user, and no other pattern had emerged. The one instance of that "UserProfileInput" phrase I could find via various searches was in the cvs link in my report. The trend seems to have come to a halt for now. Sorry if I've wasted anyone's time.
Closing this bug - this feature works as intended. If you have problems with it, please open a more specific bug.
See also bug 57931. (I can't add it to the "See also" field though.)
