Hallo! http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences provide more options then the other Wikimedia Foundation projects. However "E-mail me when my user talk page is changed" is not part of the prefences. http://wikimania2006.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Tog-enotifusertalkpages I wonder how a wiki can be functional without this feature: users get contacted directly but the only way to notice this is that they visit the wiki. *request* Please enable the "ENotif on changes at own talk pages" feature at the Wikimania2006 wiki Thanks in advance! best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
This one is really important - because one cannot be always active on all projects. It often happened that I saw a note on it.wikipedia only after many days, since I sometimes do some work there, but not regularly. The same for commons or meta (well now I am more often at meta, but it can happen that for some days I cannot visit all pages). It is an option and for many of us it would be an advantage, in particular for those who contribute to various projects. So yes, please activate it as option to be set. Thanks!!!! I would enable it, if I only could ... Tom - for Enotif
To whom it may concern and especially the Admins of the Wikimania2006 wiki: How to enable ? If the mail subsystem is working (which is usually the case if you can mail you a temporary password), it's as easy as to set in DefaultSettings.php $wgEnotifUserTalk = true; See http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/branches/REL1_6/phase3/includes/DefaultSettings.php?annotate=13518 Line 983 : $wgEnotifUserTalk = false; # UPO
Now enabled where on the wikis where it's on.
Thank you Brion! Ciao, Sabine
