Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2006-02-21 02:26:01 UTC
This is a counterpart for
Bug 2468: The code that generates the namespace form for 'Special:'
Contributions, Allpages and Recentchanges should be merged and reused for other
special pages with namespace filtering
Bug 5053: The code that generates the filter section for 'Special:'
Contributions, Recentchanges, Recentchangeslinked, Watchlist should be merged
and reused for other special pages with filter section
Comment 1 lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2006-02-21 02:48:32 UTC
from bug 4171 comment 2
b1) [[MediaWiki:Newpageletter]] is *not* shown in 'Special:Contributions'
b2) "Normaly" [[Special:Recentchanges]] does *not* generate a (diff) link for
from bug 4171 comment 3
d) consistent "#" *or* "*" should be used for all entries

This is neither the subject of bug 4171 nor of the bug 5052 splitted as a
separate bug.
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2006-02-21 03:18:58 UTC
No damn clue what this means.
Comment 3 lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2006-02-21 06:34:31 UTC
This request is about minor details in the result lines of special pages:

Maybe this is more easy to understand:
c) [[Special:Recentchanges]] shows '(diff) (hist)' *but* 'Special:Contributions'
shows '(hist) (diff)' in reversed order

But let's look at / compare
http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges
21 February 2006
* (diff) (hist) . . m Wikipedia talk:Bugzilla/04171/user project main B; 01:58 .
. Gangleri (Talk | block) (purge)

http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Gangleri
# 01:58, 21 February 2006 (hist) (diff) m Talk:04171/user project main C (purge)

I copied this in Firefox.
** d) I see a difference between "*" and "#"
** c) I see a difference between '(diff) (hist)' and '(hist) (diff)'
** bug 5052 I see different titles
** f) the links are generated in a different way
Special:Recentchanges
diff:
http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Bugzilla/04171/user_project_main_B&curid=284&diff=815&oldid=813
hist:
http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Bugzilla/04171/user_project_main_B&curid=284&action=history
Special:Contributions
hist:
http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:04171/user_project_main_C&action=history
diff:
http://test.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:04171/user_project_main_C&diff=prev&oldid=815
** g) if the user would be a 'bot' there would be a difference according to bug 4054
** b) if the page would be a newly created page
*** b1) [[MediaWiki:Newpageletter]] is *not* shown in 'Special:Contributions'
*** b2) "Normaly" [[Special:Recentchanges]] does *not* generate a (diff) link for
new pages

It takes some time until newbies see all these minor details. I assume that a
common code that would render same events / lines in an "identical" fashion.
This would neither ruttle (verunsichern) newbies nor developers when verifying
their code.

Brion please REOPEN if you see any problem.

best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]

Is that not what ChangesList/ChangesRow do? You're asking for something we
already do.
