When editing posts using my java-browser-edit-helper (cf. [[User:DabMachine]] on
en.wikipedia.org) I get the following warning from the en.Wikipedia server:

<b>Warning</b>:  error_log(/home/wikipedia/logs/bot-heuristic.log) [<a
href='function.error-log'>function.error-log</a>]: failed to open stream:
Permission denied in <b>/usr/local/apache/common-local/php-1.5/checkers.php</b>
on line <b>120</b><br />

and the edit fails with the message "session data lost".
but only if I try to post using a valid session cookie. If the two (PHP warning
and Wikimedia fail message) are related, please drop me a quick note, as it may
help me not to search in vain for bugs in my own code.

We have some broken log files temporarily while recovering servers.
