Hallo! The transclusion of MediaWiki messages from MessagesXx.php, from the "require once" "parent language", from Messages.php (etc.) is a great improuvement and obsoletes the "job" of special:Contributions/MediaWiki_default. It would be a great improuvement if the "predefined" templates , , could handle transcluded MediaWiki messages the same way as local MediaWiki messages. If there is a preference to use a gray background (as configured for protectected pages at [[en:MediaWiki:Minoredit) this would be fine to distinguisch them. More test links: http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Minoredit http://sl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Sidebar http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Sidebar http://yi.wiktionary.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Minoredit and their related categories. *note* Transcluded MediaWiki messages form a new class of message. The color distinction blue / red does not cover these exactly. But this is another issue. best regards reinhardt user:gangleri
Incomprehensible.
a) At http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Minoredit#msgnw:MediaWiki:PAGENAME generates the text MediaWiki:Minoredit (*without* rendering) and not the content of the "transcluded MediaWiki message". b) At http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Sidebar#msgnw:MediaWiki:PAGENAME generates navigation * mainpage|mainpage * recentchanges-url|recentchanges * randompage-url|randompage * Sandbox|Sandbox because this message is "local to the wiki". *request* "transcluded MediaWiki message" as in example a) should render in the same way as messages "local to the wiki" as in example b).
Someone remind me the point of transcluding interface text?
