For anonymous users all time stamps on Special:Recentchanges are shown in UTC by default. This is very confusing, when you are not at all living in that time zone. In Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein we now have winter time (CET), so the time should be changed to UTC+1 on the following wikis, like it has been done for deWP and deWnews already: * http://de.wiktionary.org/ * http://de.wikibooks.org/ * http://de.wikiquote.org/ * http://de.wikisource.org/ and * http://als.wikipedia.org/ * http://als.wiktionary.org/
BTW: "CET" is called "MEZ" on [de] and [als].
Hmm, now we already have summer time (UTC+2)! "CEST" (German: "MESZ") On the German Wikipedia this has been changed already, but all other Central European wikis (de.Wiktionary, etc.) have been forgotten once again! Could this timezone changes please be done consistently every time. If this should take a lot of time, consider fixing the bug 5356, which allows that this work can be done by sysops on every single wiki; so every wiki community can decide if they will stay at UTC or not.
See [1] filed in 2004 for a framework to have this change done automatically. I only can again appeal to developers to find a solution. [1] http://bugzilla.wikipedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=505 "Specify timezones by location, to allow automatic adjustments of timeoffset and daylight saving time (DST)"
Set.
REOPENED - Could you do the same for the Central European language wikis [[bar:]], [[ksh:]] and [[rm:]], please? Those three wiki families should get adjusted the same time as the German Wikipedia, as those languages are spoken in and around Germany/Switzerland.
