There two characters 'HEBREW LETTER VAV' - U 05D5 are used and *not* 'HEBREW LIGATURE YIDDISH DOUBLE VAV' - U 05F0 as in "װיקיביבליאָטעק". I thing that a discussion about character usage, about the usage of [[en:niqqud]] is necessary. This will have impacts also on the spelling of namespaces. Personaly I think that parallel spelling (YIVO and common usage) should be allowed at projects in Yiddish as well as transcription(s). Hi Reinhardt. About the encoding, I agree with you that the double vav is appropriate. The namespace suggestion was provided by [[yi:User:Jiddisch]], and I don't think he considered that detail. I suggest fixing it, mentioning it on yi.wikipedia (perhaps on his talkpage), and then going ahead with the project. Wikisource is perfect for Yiddish, a language for which the vast majority of its literature is public domain. As for the use of niqqud, Yiddish is different than Hebrew. In Hebrew one can get along fine with no niqqud at all, in fact that is the way things are normally done (except for special texts). But in Yiddish the vowels including some degree of niqqud are an intrinsic part of the spelling (and if they are missing the word is incorrect).
(sory about my English) The name "װיקיביבליאָטעק" is sparely also OK, but with our experience with the name "װיקיפּעדיע" by Wikipedia project, there is some problems e.g. it is hardly to use this name in other external sites or in search engines and the like, also some computers shows the doeble VAV in another size that other lettes and it look like a NUN. It looks like this whole discussion is no longer a problem, now that [[Bug 4960]] has been solved to allow the use of namespace variants for these types of characters. They should be implemented in Yiddish Wikisource exactly as they were in Yiddish Wikipedia. I would add that now that the problem has been solved, it would be really great if the website could be set up as a priority. There is a special reason for this, namely that Yiddish is a language with a very rich literature that is almost entirely in the public domain. (In reply to comment #4) I agree about creating the project. Sorry for delaying this but I was not able to provide MessagesYi.php. The main problem consists in analysing if the messages; to know exacly if they contain unwanted general punctuation characters or not. Such characters are introduced using copy and paste.

[[yi:project:LanguageYi.php_Revision_1.8#addition_per_bugzilla:04786]] is of *no* use becaue it contains three 'LEFT-TO-RIGHT EMBEDDING' - U+202A Unicode characters. Please take the fixed LanguageYi.php from http://test.leuksman.com/view/FiverAlpha:Languages/LanguageYi.php#new_LanguageYi.php Sorry for all the inconveniences.
