On eo-WP I tested if protecting and unprotecting run well. I could protect a page [[:eo:GAZ]] and now I can't unprotect it. When I click oon 'unprotect' I get the protect page again.
An other admin on eo:WP experienced the contrary : he wanted to protect a page [[:eo:Literaturo]] and must do it four times untill he succeded. In the protect logbook one see three times 'unprotect' (and he asked does that not work ? ) and the forth time 'protect'
The form has changed to better accommodate multiple protection levels (the separate protection against page moves only, and the additional limit level for new users which some of the wikis are using). When you bring up the form, it shows the current selection: you must choose the new selection. Just pushing the submit button won't change the settings.
It wouldn't hurt to avoid creating dupes in the protection log when the protection levels haven't changed, however...
Changing focus to match the issue from comment 3.
Hallo! It seams that another reason for these "duplicates" (protections with the same level) happens also if the page does not "refresh" after "action=protect". This happened to me two times while performing the steps described at http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Gangleri/tests/bugzilla/transcluded_MediaWiki_messages/001#steps best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
Fixed in SVN trunk, r13550.
