Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Arno Lagrange 2006-01-26 06:58:21 UTC
On eo-WP I tested if protecting and unprotecting run well. I could protect a
page [[:eo:GAZ]] and now I can't unprotect it. When I click oon 'unprotect' I
get the protect page again.
Comment 1 Arno Lagrange 2006-01-26 07:04:08 UTC
An other admin on eo:WP experienced the contrary : he wanted to protect a page
[[:eo:Literaturo]] and must do it four times untill he succeded. In the protect
logbook one see three times 'unprotect' (and he asked does that not work ? )
and the forth time 'protect'
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2006-01-26 08:35:22 UTC
The form has changed to better accommodate multiple protection levels (the separate protection against
page moves only, and the additional limit level for new users which some of the wikis are using). When
you bring up the form, it shows the current selection: you must choose the new selection. Just pushing
the submit button won't change the settings.
Comment 3 Rob Church 2006-01-26 09:28:23 UTC
It wouldn't hurt to avoid creating dupes in the protection log when the
protection levels haven't changed, however...
Comment 4 Rob Church 2006-01-26 10:19:01 UTC
Changing focus to match the issue from comment 3.
Comment 5 lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2006-02-14 19:29:34 UTC

It seams that another reason for these "duplicates" (protections with the same
level) happens also if the page does not "refresh" after "action=protect".

This happened to me two times while performing the steps described at
