Changed summary for this bug to reflect the problem. a) I see as one of the problems that also for links as 'b:xx:foo' would be "routed" trough "nonexisting" "hubs". It sould be possible to detect / configure this. b) Another problem is the fact that "shortcut" interwikies as 'b:', 'n:', 'q:', 's:', 'wikt:' are *not* defined at the related project family. c) An aditional improuvement would be the evaluation of self referencing interwiki prefixes (bug 4864) *demo pages* a signficant part of the links fail at: http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/user:Gangleri/tests/bugzilla/04558 http://species.wikipedia.org/wiki/user:Gangleri/tests and at this moment at: http://yi.wiktionary.org/wiki/project:bugzilla/04558 partly tested: http://sep11.wikipedia.org/wiki/user:Gangleri/tests only the links mentioned in b) and thouse from bug 2406 fail here: http://ro.wikibooks.org/wiki/user:Gangleri/tests http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/user:Gangleri/tests/bugzilla/04558 best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]

The translation of wikisyntax at that channel generates the same invalid links as specified at [[wm2008:project talk:Community Portal#bugzilla_004558]] mentioned at comment #2 .
