The "in other languages" section should not display suggestions for the source language because it results in a useless duplication of the source message.

This is a user setting. User can remove the helper language in special:preferences as a work-around.

I was not able to reproduce, and given that there are no steps to reproduce, I am assuming this has been fixed.

1) Check what's the source language of the wiki (e.g. "en" on Meta)
2) Open Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing and check what are the assistant languages (e.g. "it" for me, apparently the default as I have Italian UI)
3) Add language from (1) to (2), save
4) Open Special:Translate and select any message to translate

The definition is repeated in the assistant languages area.
