Although upgrading isn't so difficult, doing it via git would be easier - just checking out the new branch.

Maybe the installer should suggest users clone using git to aid future upgrades? With examples of course

*Very* bad. Upgrading is easy, but dealing with the "upgraded" software is not at all. Suggest WONTFIX here.
