After updating to PHP 4.4.1 all my galleries (and HTML-commets) are replaced by a string 
(hash) like these:

NaodW29-gallery45645db351f079ab00000001 

NaodW29-HTMLCommentStrip27a2ef8b1c06026d00000001

I updated to MW 1.5.3, but the error is stil there, even after adding the gallery again.

Googling the mailing list archive (http://tinyurl.com/7wstt) produces four
relevant hits. If it remains a problem, please email the list yourself. The
causes seem to be version incompatibilities between various elements, which is a
configuration issue...

...resolving INVALID.
