Hallo! Skilled users may be able to see at [[en:User:RobotGMwikt_does_not_exist]] and [[en:Special:Contributions/RobotGMwikt_does_not_exist]] that no such user has registered but *newbies* may not see that. How to distinguish: - the first page does not contain a "User contributions" link in the toolbox - the user name in the seccond page is not an HTML link Anybody could create the first page in the user namespace. This can be quite irritating. Enhancement request: Please add a MediaWiki message showing that no such user has registered to the wiki. (Please find the proper wording.) Another bug related to the confusion caused by creating user pages for accounts that do not exist is: Bug 3904: disallow user pages and user_talk pages starting with lower case on case sensitive wikis best regards reinhardt [[user:gangleri]]
I'm inclined to think this wouldn't be as useful as it sounds. You can soon find out that no such user exists.
There are messages nowadays: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:User:RobotGMwikt_does_not_exist ---> "Wikipedia does not have a user page with this exact name." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/en:Special:Contributions/RobotGMwikt_does_not_exist ---> "For RobotGMwikt does not exist " http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:RobotGMwikt_does_not_exist&action=edit ---> "User account "RobotGMwikt does not exist" is not registered." in red.
