Description FAR 2005-11-12 20:40:15 UTC
A user has reported in the IRC that the multilingual page for a server error has
an spelling mistake in spanish. Could it be added to the editable mediawiki
templates
Comment 1 Rob Church 2005-11-14 10:06:17 UTC
The MediaWiki namespace pages are stored in the database. If there is a problem
connecting to the database, then the namespace is inaccessible. I hope you see
where I'm coming from. Perhaps you could tell us what the incorrect text and the
replacement text are?
Comment 2 FAR 2005-11-21 15:37:13 UTC
The exactly problem was the verb hacer. It was conjugated as has (2nd person),
but it should be haz (imperative)
Comment 3 FAR 2005-11-21 15:52:16 UTC
"Wikipedia es ahora uno de los sitios más visitados en la Internet, y la
Fundación Wikimedia debe constantemente comprar hardware nuevo. Si deseas
ayudarnos, por favor has una donación."

It should be

"Wikipedia es ahora uno de los sitios más visitados en la Internet, y la
Fundación Wikimedia debe constantemente comprar hardware nuevo. Si deseas
ayudarnos, por favor haz una donación."

Thanks

Misspelling in the spanish version of our multilingual error message is
still present. Please just change the word "has" before the donation link
in the last sentence to "haz" as requested above and on Meta before.
Comment 5 DRoBeR 2006-02-13 12:36:33 UTC
#wikipedia-es created a new and correct Spanish correction of the multilingual
error message:

Los servidores de la Fundación Wikimedia están teniendo dificultades técnicas.
Este problema es temporal y esperamos arreglarlo cuanto antes. Por favor intenta
acceder nuevamente dentro de unos minutos.
Para mayor información, puedes visitar el canal #wikipedia-es de la red Freenode
en IRC.
Wikipedia es uno de los sitios más visitados en Internet y la Fundación
Wikimedia necesita comprar hardware nuevo constantemente. Si deseas ayudarnos,
por favor haz una donación.

Gracias.

Is this already FIXED?
Comment 7 Platonides 2006-04-07 16:13:34 UTC
Can't know as i don't know how to make an error so i can check what the current
message is. ;)

But as far as nobody changed the bug status i guess nobody noticed/tried to fix it.
Comment 8 Platonides 2006-04-09 20:43:11 UTC
As today's failure, the error message hasn't changed a bit since the bug was opened.
Comment 9 Platonides 2006-04-28 16:33:13 UTC
Someone changed it. Now it has a new text. It's not the proposed here, but it's
ok. :-)

Hem... What about translating the donation form too? It may be a bit tricky, as
we're not using real translation but a CSS hack, but is an improvement we should
made.

I also see some HTML commented text at the form. Probably should be removed.
Comment 10 Antoine "hashar" Musso (WMF) 2007-01-06 15:41:47 UTC
Marking as fixed since the message changed.

For the donation form open a new bug or discuss about it in
the mailing lists.
