If one server fails, it might be good to rotate the list and try the next one as long as their are multiple servers defined. One daemon might be down or broken, or otherwise temporarily occupied, so having a better chance to get a response from the next one might cut down on end-user grumbling. Since people are dreadfully confused by clear error messages, it might also help to have a stupid error message that doesn't say what happened but seems friendlier.
