Interwiki with same code as the site has create redlink instead of valid interwiki link as they used to.

Seems like the intended behaviour here. The interwiki link is not (strictly speaking) "valid", since its target doesn't exist.

The redding of the link is currently only done for the local wiki, but if bug 11 is fixed, this would extend to all interwiki links.
