Someone pointed out that <http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Special:Version> indicates that the Wikitech wiki is out of date (currently reads "MediaWiki 1.17wmf1 (r90469)"). It should be updated at some point.

This is a dupe of bug 28356, kind of. I wasn't sure whether to file a separate bug or not and I agonized over the decision. Just so you know.

I guess this needs an RT ticket? CC'ing a few people on this bug who might be able to help out with that.

Tried to upgrade this in place a while ago and it failed. We want to get a completely fresh virtual instance and then install a fresh wiki and import data. In between there has been discussion about using OpenStack rather than Linode but we did not get a reply yet. This is also in RT-#3334: Update Wikitech mediawiki. Linking this one there as well.

Tim did this last night. The wiki is now running 1.19.2 (cf. <http://wikitech.wikimedia.org/view/Special:Version>).
