Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Chris Wood 2005-09-25 22:13:26 UTC
A user's default nickname is currently Username. It should be
User:Username, which is easier on the eyes, takes up less space in
wikisource, and also suggests to the user that that kind of thing is possible.
Comment 1 Rob Church 2005-09-25 22:32:56 UTC
Au contraire; some of us were discussing over at en-wiki that the default ought
to be something like Username (talk) -
it's awkward getting to a user's talk page if it isn't in their signature. Space
in the source code isn't much of an issue, to be honest; although I admit that
the HTML and associated code for some people's fancy-arse signatures does
extract the urine somewhat.
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2005-09-26 00:55:18 UTC
The default is blank.
