The following patch includes: many messages translated (mainly those related to special pages or user preferences), a few existing translations changed, minor changes to structure of LanguageDe.php (i.e. position of messages). Tested on local MediaWiki 1.5rc4.

It would be better if you could provide a patch for CVS HEAD, this one doesn't apply to head: $ patch < patch (Stripping trailing CRs from patch.) patching file LanguageDe.php Hunk #2 succeeded at 234 with fuzz 2 (offset 1 line). Hunk #4 succeeded at 579 (offset 2 lines). Hunk #6 succeeded at 662 (offset 2 lines). Hunk #8 FAILED at 744. Hunk #9 succeeded at 909 (offset 21 lines). Hunk #11 succeeded at 990 (offset 21 lines). Hunk #12 succeeded at 1024 with fuzz 2 (offset 17 lines). Hunk #13 succeeded at 1108 (offset 21 lines). Hunk #14 succeeded at 1116 (offset 17 lines). Hunk #15 succeeded at 1170 (offset 21 lines). Hunk #16 succeeded at 1177 (offset 17 lines). 1 out of 16 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file LanguageDe.php.rej The part that gets rejected is pretty big.
The patch isn't meant to be for HEAD, but for 1.5. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
