I was using gmail one day to mail the Wikipedia-I mailing list when I saw the spell check link. This gave me an idea: MediaWiki should have one. I will explain my understanding of the gmail spell check feature, becuase I liked it so much. You click a link (in MediaWiki, it could be a button in the toolbar), and it highlights all the unknown words in the text box. When you click on a highlighted word, a box appears with a list of suggestions. If no suggestions are available, a box pops up that says "(no suggestions)". It uses javascript, so it's not like a new window, just a new box. If anybody has gmail, please check this out and see if it would be good for mediawiki. Just compose an email, type some random words with errors, and click spell check to see what i am talking about. If anyone wants an invite to test this, I can give you one. I hope a lot of people like this idea. Thank You, Shardsofmetal.
