Will be great to generate warning (and do not allow to save a page until fixed) if user try to save page with missing </gallery> tag. Now </gallery> tag will be inserted automatically at the end of page what suppresses categories and interwikis (common reason for uncategorized pages on Commons). Same check will be useful to newly introduced </includeonly> and </noinclude> and other tags (if any exists) which I don't know.
We do not check syntax, user should preview the page, check if something is wrong and fix it.
Syntax is checked (I suppose automatically added </gallery> came for syntax checker) in not the best way. Better to let user to fix problem correctly (manually). It's not always easy to see missing categories and interwikis. And not all users are using preview. I don't want to claim that this show stopper problem but will be useful to fix it instead of ignoring.
