Is this still an issue? Just did a search for 'bannana' on en.m.wikipedia.org and got suggested result for 'banana' - seems to work fine now, unless I am not understanding the original bad behavior experienced.

Closing as this seems to be fixed (Wikkipedia matches wikipedia and banana bannana)
Also bug is 4 months old.
