Description Mark 2005-08-16 01:33:55 UTC
I hate to enter another bug on this so soon since the last one was just
resolved, but br:User:Fulup finished translating the remaining 60% of
Language.php, so now it is complete.

He also proofread the translation and made some modifications to parts that were
already translated.

I've attached a patch for version 1.3 of LanguageBr.php.

Patch for LanguageBr.php

I did some cleanup lately on all language files, could you check the differences
and remove the obsolote stuff?

new patch for LanguageBr.php

I tried to remove the obsolete parts, I might've missed some but I don't think
so.
Comment 4 Niklas Laxström 2005-08-20 22:35:46 UTC
I get the following error, did you perhaps modify the patch file directly?

patching file LanguageBr.php

You're right,

I was redoing the patch properly but I noticed some things that I wonder why you
removed them.

Most notably, the names of special pages. What possible purpose could it serve
to remove the specialpage names?

Also, there have been quite a few new modifications to the language file since
then, but I have applied them all now and am awaiting your reply before making
the new patch.

What's the purpose of this???

They are not used at all in current version of mediawiki. It may change in the
future but currently they are just bloating the language file. If you think I
removed something in error, please tell me.

newer patch, to be applied to current cvs version (rev 1.8)

This one should work
Comment 8 Niklas Laxström 2005-10-04 12:14:00 UTC
Still not 100% compliant with instructions at
http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_localisation#Modifying_files
If you want to speed up the process you should remove the now obsolote messages.
Comment 9 Mark 2005-10-04 13:16:11 UTC
It appears complaint with me. The reason there are obsolete messages is because
the file has been updated since I last made the patch.
Comment 10 Niklas Laxström 2005-10-11 21:53:23 UTC
Puuh, committed, but it wasn't fast task.
Comment 11 Mark 2005-10-12 19:43:12 UTC
Niklas, thank you on behalf of the breton community!

A question, though: when can it be expected to replace the outdated version used
by Br.Wiki? When a partial translation was uploaded some months ago, it took a
few weeks before it actually showed up. Is there a particular event that we can
look forward to, or is it completely random?

Cheers
Comment 12 Rob Church 2005-10-12 21:25:04 UTC
If it's been applied to CVS HEAD, then it won't show up for a little while,
unless someone merges it back and updates the Wikimedia servers to use that.
