comments size is too small in newbook.css .comment { font-size: 10pt; <snip> Leave it unset as on wikipedia :)
Comments are shown in a fixed-width font and would be waaayyy too big at 12pt. I think 10pt looks better for these...
i don't like the fact that mediawiki overrides the font size, i'd rather leave all sizes at browser default (except maybe headings)...

Created attachment 772 [details] pre rendering on wikipedia pre as they are shown on wikipedia.org . The font size in the <pre> element is 'free'.
Please have a look at the two attachment and reconsider the case.
Textarea hardcoded to 100% to instead of 'small' wich is the overall default in monobook skin. See next attachment:
