This feature would give users the choice to display a particular WikiPortal
instead of "Main Page" upon entering the URL of the project. So, for example,
upon trying to get to en.wikipedia.org I would see WikiPortal Art (soon,
Portal:Art) straight away, instead of "Main Page". Presumably, I would input my
choice at User Preferences.

Or we could programmatically add a checkbox to the bottom of each page in the
Portal: namespace saying "Take me directly to this page each time I visit
www.wikipedia.org". Brion, although I'm sure you'll think such a checkbox would
be horrible UI clutter, :) I think it would be worth it. It would be make it far
easier for computer novices to set the preference.
I'm gonna axe this one on the basis that every browser known to mankind supports
fully user-customizable bookmarks, while user preferences don't help when you're
not logged in yet. :)
