Together with all other preferences, the email address is routinely sent when editing or requesting pages (together with all other pages).

For various reasons, this should probably be avoided.

Standard workaround is probably not to set an email address.

Umm? Email address it not stored as part of the other preferences, and is thus not send with them either.
Comment 2 User:Docu 2011-05-07 09:38:25 UTC
Looks like you are right.

It seems when I had checked before it was there. Maybe that was temporary.

Could someone confirm that this was there before?

I'm pretty sure it was never there. I remember having similar concerns when I first learned we were sending preferences, but was assured that we weren't sending the email. In any case the email address is stored very differently from the rest of the preferences, so its probably not something that will be accidentally sent.
