Description Mark A. Hershberger 2011-04-18 21:44:19 UTC
Split from Bug #23052:

Steps to reproduce::
1) Access the URL http://prototype.wikimedia.org/en.wikipedia.org/Main_Page
2) Click on Random Page link
3) Click on Edit tab
4) Scroll down a bit in Edit window
5) Place cursor somewhere in the middle of the page
6) Click on 'Numbered List' icon from the Advanced toolbar

The '# Numbered list item' text is inserted to the top of the page irrespective
of the cursor position.

This issue is reproducible when other icons are clicked too.

Works for me in trunk.

Which browser are you using? Can you reproduce this in trunk?
Comment 2 Mark A. Hershberger 2011-04-22 14:58:21 UTC
Ugh... Its worse.

Trunk, FF4

Clicking the numbered list button repeatedly and I end up with:

#
# Numbered list ite
#
 # Numbered list it

 # Numbered list it
#
 # Numbered list ite

Yeah that's sort of a bug I knew about, except for the part where the final m's get cut off. However, for me the toolbar inserts stuff at the cursor position just fine in FF4, rather than always inserting it at the top, and that's the bug you reported here.

I tried to verify this bug.
1. The link to the prototype wiki given above isn't working.
2. Working with the http://prototype.wikimedia.org I can't reproduce this.
3. This requires an extension that I don't have on my wiki so I can't verify locally.

Can anyone update?

Any wiki running off trunk is good. You can check out from [[mw:Subversion]]
