Since the message in MediaWiki:Mwe-upwiz-thanks-caption is undocumented, its use is not obvious or apparent, this report has to be viewed with some caution.

The message looks like a case of a bad type of link anchor as briefly explained in:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Localisation#Use_meaningful_link_anchors
