Description Derk-Jan Hartman 2011-03-23 20:17:22 UTC
Personally, it took me way too long to find the pleasures of Saved searches and I think many developers could be more efficient and would sooner jump on tickets, if they had easily accessible lists/reports. These should be available to all registered bugzilla users, just from the left sidebar.

Ticket assignment, is one of the areas where the default setup of Mantis is much more transparent for instance and though I'm no real fan of Mantis, I have to say this is where the default setup of bugzilla really needs some improvement.

I'm thinking of the following default searches/reports:

"Today" - list of all bugs with changes in the past 24 hours (open and closed)
"Assigned to me" - (only open bugs)
"Reported by me" - (only open bugs)
"Related to me" - where you are either on CC, reporter or assigned or where you commented. (open only).

Other suggestions for defaults are welcome.

"My Bugs" is built in and covers this one. Perhaps Bz4 has more more options for adding fixed searchs besides the initial "My Bugs".

AFAIK, "My bugs" doesn't include my CC'd bugs. Looks to not include it either in BZ4

I added a '"My" CC'd Bugs' saved search for that, which some (9 other) people are using

In this version of Bz, at least, CC'd bugs could be added by modifying the URL that "My bugs" points to.

+upstream, I'm pretty sure this is something we can't do without a custom patch.

It can be done, you'd just have to add it to the skin.

Resetting to default per bug 37789

"Bugs filed today" and "Bugs filed yesterday" queries exist, created by Matma.Rex

> "Assigned to me" - (only open bugs)

"Assigned to me" exists, created by Krinkle, though only refers to Assignee==me AND ASSIGNED bug status. The "My Bugs" query exists by default and refers to either Assignee==me or Reporter==me.

> "Reported by me" - (only open bugs)

Created "Reported by me and open" saved search.

> "Related to me" - where you are either on CC, reporter or assigned or where
> you

Created "Related to me and open" saved search.

You can add these queries under https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=saved-searches .

I am unsure whether I want these queries to be displayed by default for really all users, however it might help making people aware of saved searches.

Also note that I have a blogpost about using saved searches on my list (probably in four weeks, I now try to cover a Bugzilla topic every week in a "Bugzilla Tips" blogpost on http://blogs.gnome.org/aklapper/ ).

Covered on the front page now thanks to fixed bug 22170, hence available to everybody who is logged in.

So this is the only one outstanding it seems, and I wonder how much it is wanted (as that list could get rather long).
