Description MZMcBride 2011-03-08 17:26:24 UTC
Currently Wikimedia provides dumps of various database tables (including page text), but does not regularly output dumps of media, such as files, images, etc. This should be fixed. Being able to obtain a full set of the media used on Wikimedia wikis is important.

I believe Media dumps are already being worked on, and being produced as we speak.
Comment 2 Hydriz Scholz 2012-06-18 12:52:18 UTC
As per the announcement on xmldatadumps-l [1], the media tarballs are available for download, and every wiki is available for download.

Its up to Ariel to resolve this bug, as per the disclaimer in the email itself.

Well nothing is ever completely resolved in dumps-land, but close enough.
