Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description Martijn Hoekstra 2011-03-05 13:18:39 UTC
We have a tag for bot edits, and for minor edits, but we don't have a field for semi-automated edits. I would like to request a field for that (and a filter, so that one can look at all non-automated edits).

The rationale behind this, is that often people come up for RfA on who have a large number of semi-automated edits. It would be nice if it were possible to have a look at only the non-automated contributions. When there are a lot of semi-automated edits this can be like looking for a needle in a heystack. With a flag for semi-automated edits this would be much easier.

I'm really not seeing the use in this, if "RfA at enwiki" is the main rationale.

I do think that this might end up appearing anyway — if we were to move towards OAuth.

I don't see a real usecase for this either. Either it's a bot edit or it's not. Suggest WONTFIX.

TBH, a lot of the semi-automated tools should mark their edits as bot anyway...
