Description Monomium 2011-02-23 00:45:37 UTC
A user has complained to me that the "Beta features" label is misleading. They seem to be enabled by default, which makes me wonder whether they are in beta (which they probably aren't). Additionally, right below it is a label stating "Labs features"; this is really odd. I'd like to suggest that it is renamed to "Enhanced features".

There's already a system message for that at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Prefs-beta

You can modify the wiki page there, I don't think there is a need for developer intervention any time soon.

Reopening, The message might be configurable, but the default as pointed out is confusing and could be improved.

I'm WONTFIX-ing this. Beta features can be enabled by default, because we're forcing them on (part of the) users. The are beta because they have not been fully developed and might even be pulled, temporarily disabled, or whatever.
