Description Patrick Marshall 2011-02-21 17:53:53 UTC
Using MS IE-8 64-bit edition on Windows 7 home

On Bugzilla, cannot enter login user name, the field is blocked. The password field is still accessible. Note that I can log in using Google Chrome.

Entry point was from email. Clicked on link notifying that a change had occurred to a bug I had entered. I attempted to log in to add a addendum to the description, but was unable to type into the login user name field.
Comment 1 Patrick Marshall 2011-02-21 18:06:52 UTC
On pressing the "login" link, the word "login" is grey and partially obscured ("ogin"), "password" is grey and completely visible. Attempting to put the text cursor focus on the login field causes both fields to go blank white and the focus goes immediately to the password field. After this, you cannot put focus on the username field.

Thinking because the field seemed "mis-sized", I changed the zoom and text size to normal, but this had no effect.

Can you attach a screenshot?

I can confirm the visual bug, but have no problem clicking into or typing in the username/email field. (Might depend on window size, other things on screen, etc)

It works for me.

Exactly the same as Brion, the cursor seems to be just off screen, but if you start typing, it's fine..

Shot of section of screen including username+pwd fields with bar artifact

shows black bar artifact in password field that looks like a mock text cursor
Comment 6 Patrick Marshall 2011-02-21 22:01:55 UTC
There is a vertical black bar on the left side of the password box which I mis-interpreted as the text cursor (see screen shot with highlighted rectangle). This is going to be confusing to users, but they will be able to enter the login.

Seems to be fine on my IE8 box (admittedly 32bit and win xp) are people with win7 and 64bit ie8 still seeing/having this issue?
Comment 9 Sam Reed (reedy) 2011-07-12 22:58:32 UTC
Win 7 x64, IE8 64-bit for me

And it works fine for me now
