Description Liangent 2011-02-19 06:43:14 UTC
With the introduction of ResourceLoader, in some situations where this message is used, clearing cache manually is not a must.
Comment 1 Amir E. Aharoni 2011-04-21 21:49:09 UTC
There are several issues with clearyourcache:

1. Google Chrome is not mentioned.
2. "Mozilla" can be removed - people who are smart enough to install Mozilla probably know what "Firefox" is.
3. Internet Explorer is the last. Many people may hate it, but it's still the most popular browser, certainly more popular than Konqueror. In several Wikipedias this was customized anyway and IE was moved to the top. But it doesn't even need its own line anyway: Ctrl-F5 works in it, too.
4. For better readability, the whole thing should be a bulleted list.

Patch to fix some of the concerns (English)

This fixes the concerns raised by Amir E. Aharoni.

Not knowing anything about ResourceLoader, its a little hard for me to fix the other concerns.

Also note that I do not have Chrome installed, so those instructions were written based on Chrome's online docs.
Comment 3 Niklas Laxström 2011-05-21 06:53:34 UTC
The Chrome part works, but pressing Ctrl+Shift+R also adds no-cache headers.

Patch to fix some of the concerns (English, rv2)

Thanks for the tip. This patch uses the easier method for Google Chrome.
