Description folengo 2011-02-09 13:35:23 UTC
Today 9 February 2011 I read that file

http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Ctwinloss.png

is being used at

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cass_Tech_Technicians_Football

But that page was deleted on 13 January 2011 according to the log.
Comment 1 folengo 2011-02-09 13:50:01 UTC
Same problem with http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cthelmet212.png and possibly all files previously inserted in the now deleted Wikipedia page.

Confirmed - can still see that page on the uses when it was deleted in January 2011. Purging the page doesn't solve the problem.

I found a workaround: If we remove the link to the file before deleting the page it will not be on GlobalUsage when the page is deleted.

Hmm... actually, what I get is two links to the same page, and it is the new one which is removed from GlobalUsage when I edit the page. So, in the end I still have a link to a deleted page...

Comment 7 Helder 2012-08-25 21:18:03 UTC
This is weird...
1) I created
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Bug27280
with
[[File:See bug 27280.svg]]

2) The file appeared at
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Special:GlobalUsage/See_bug_27280.svg

3) Deleted the page
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Especial:Registo/delete?page=Bug27280

4) The file was removed from
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Special:GlobalUsage/See_bug_27280.svg

So, why it worked in this case?
Comment 8 Helder 2013-03-18 13:43:55 UTC

The behavior is still inconsistent:

I just added "//[[File:See bug 27280.svg]]" to
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/User:Marcos_Antônio_Nunes_de_Moura/monobook.js?diff=248696
and it didn't show up on
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Special:GlobalUsage/See_bug_27280.svg
but when I created the subpage "/bug 27280.js" of the same user with the content "//[[File:See bug 27280.svg]]", this new page was shown at
https://pt.wikibooks.org/wiki/Special:GlobalUsage/See_bug_27280.svg
(and the monobook.js still was not there)
Then I deleted the "/bug 27280.js" page, and it was removed from global usage instantaneously.

Why does it have problem only with the monobook.js one? Maybe it is because it was created on 21:51, 6 March 2007? (I suppose the extension was not installed at that time, was it?)
