Description Sam Reed (reedy) 2011-02-06 14:40:24 UTC
Per Roan at fosdem, it should be fairly trivial to add odf/webodf support to mediawiki

Logging as a todo reminder for him
Comment 1 Bryan Tong Minh 2011-02-06 14:59:22 UTC
Wikipedia is unclear on this, but is this another ZIP based XML format?
Comment 2 Brion Vibber 2011-02-06 22:33:10 UTC
ODF is old hat -- our zip file type detectors were born to detect them.

As for what the reminder seems to be about, there's s client-side JS library alleged to encapsulate in-browser viewing, and it seems at least limited editing also, for the ODF document & presentation file types (.odt & .odp):

(Invalid SSL cert on demo site ain't a good sign, but eh. Source on gitorious, AGPL license of some sort.)
Comment 3 Sam Reed (reedy) 2011-02-07 00:04:07 UTC
Yeah, it was. I logged the bug as an idle task while listening to the talk, rather than Roan writing it down on a scrap of paper ;)

That otherwise sounds fairly correct Brion =)
