Description Diederik van Liere 2011-02-06 09:35:55 UTC
I would like to add 2 keywords to bugzilla: captcha and analytics. There has been a recent discussion around captcha's on the mailinglist and this was suggested as a way of making it easier to keep track of captcha related bugs / features requests (as it involves multiple components) and the same reasoning applies to analytics, right now these bugs are spread over usage statistics, xml snapshots and wikimedia downloads.

I don't think that a tracking bug is an appropriate solution:
1) With a keyword you can see in one page the status of all related bugs, you can't do that with a tracking bug (again AFAIK
2) The bugs are filed in the appropriate components but they are conceptually linked, that's why a keyword makes sense

You can indeed do that with a tracking bug -- see the "Show dependency tree / graph" line one very bug. Click "tree".

This has the great benefit of requiring no administration overhead, and can be done immediately by any bugzilla user.

Hi Diedrik,
After our discussion this morning, I modified "ConfirmEdit" component to say "ConfirmEdit (CAPTCHA extensions)".
I'm OK will adding an analytics keyword, if no one else has any objections to it. I'll also take this opportunity to remove/consolidate some old keywords that don't make sense any more like acai, babaco, Citron.
