Wikimedia Bugzilla is closed!

Wikimedia has migrated from Bugzilla to Phabricator. Bug reports should be created and updated in Wikimedia Phabricator instead. Please create an account in Phabricator and add your Bugzilla email address to it.
Wikimedia Bugzilla is read-only. If you try to edit or create any bug report in Bugzilla you will be shown an intentional error message.
In order to access the Phabricator task corresponding to a Bugzilla report, just remove "static-" from its URL.
You could still run searches in Bugzilla or access your list of votes but bug reports will obviously not be up-to-date in Bugzilla.

Description lɛʁi לערי ריינהארט 2005-07-06 01:55:53 UTC
Halló!

It is posible to display category dependencies (category path) as you can see at
http://jadesukka.homelinux.org:8180/betawiki/Kuva:Category_path_02.jpg . This
feature is probably activated in ... / ??? .

If you take a look at [[en:Template:Articlespace]] you will see
- neither the templates used to generate this template
- - the parameter names (if used)
- - - the actual values (values at the current page) of the parameters
- nor the graph showing how the template is generated / build

The request:
- offer an option to display the information mentioned above to allow newbees a
better understanding of how (nested) templates are build and working
- activate this feature by default for the template namespace where the (normal)
pages are quite small
- include specialities as (infinite recursion) detected anyway and available in
some (test) versions I have seen these days

Benefits:
- this kind of *debug* feature would make fault finding easier
- - time saving
- this would atract contributors to the template namespace

Relation to bug 662: Templates inside template parameters

Versions with bug 662 (where the patch
http://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=77&action=view is available)
render templates very odd. The request would offer some help and a better
readability of affected pages.

Can someone summarise this issue in plain English? The URL mentioned in comment
0 seems to be broken.
