Description e2m 2005-07-06 00:47:26 UTC
Assume:

* Image on commons with filename "A";
* Other image on wikipedia "B" with also filename "A";

Then:

* Image "A" cannot be used on wikipedia "B".

There should be a way to use image "A" on wikipedia "B" without deleting and renaming the
local file "A".

What about using [[Image:commons:A_duplicate.png|...]] and
[[Image:A_duplicate.png|...]] where "commons:" is a wikifarm specific interwiki
prefix?

I would prefer to see bug 709 fixed (make it possible to easily move images),
but in the meantime this would be handy too.

You should move files to better name (I'm currently working on bug 709) than use some weak parameters
