Description Nakon 2011-01-17 03:27:23 UTC
I'd like to see an option to require than an editor pass a captcha challenge in order to commit an edit. This would help us cut down on spambot edits while allowing legitimate use if a filter may affect regular editors

Already existant, as also used by Wikipedia:
* http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmEdit

After installing you can configure (read the Extension: page) who needs to captcha and who doesn't.

If you prefer to support the [[reCAPTCHA]] initiative check out:
* http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ReCAPTCHA (read from top to bottom if you have problems)

If support with these extensions is needed, leave a message on their Extension_talk: page or join #mediawiki on irc.freenode.net [0]

Re-opening. I didn't read the opening post good enough. I thought the request was a way to get a captcha at all for certain editors (not certain edit*s*).

But a way for abusefilter to trigger a captcha is interesting and useful!
