Description Paine Ellsworth 2011-01-13 02:43:31 UTC
It seems very important for subcategories to be listed on parent category pages. Isn't it just as important to list parent category(ies) on subcategory pages? To be clear, there is always a list of subcategories on parent category pages. When I click on a subcategory, there is nothing on that page to connect it back to its parent category(ies). Without such a list, it seems impossible to tell if a category is a subcategory of a higher-level category or more than one higher-level category. Wouldn't it be very useful to have the parent-category information ready at hand by listing parent(s) on subcategory pages?

What do you think the categories on the bottom of the categories page are?

Categories this category belongs to. Same as pages.

For a more linear up/down thing, there is CategoryTree..

(ec) Of course, I speak of a list *above* the listed population in the same manner as parents list their subcategories. In most skins parents are shown at the bottom rather than near the top, where they would be more obvious, the same way that subcategories are very obvious when listed on their parent pages.
