Description Pete F 2010-12-26 16:52:31 UTC
Not sure where else to post this - in the ten minutes or so since I've been on the English Wikipedia just now, I have seen banner ads on various pages with amounts raised of $10.3, $12.0, $12.5, and $12.9 million raised to date (with the appropriate amounts left to go). At least three of those have to be errors. --Ruhrfisch
Comment 1 Bawolff (Brian Wolff) 2010-12-26 23:18:24 UTC
I suppose central notice is the correct component (?)
Comment 2 Pete F 2010-12-28 20:41:57 UTC
It's entirely possible it was some short-lived bug..speaking for myself, I haven't seen anything odd since the report.
Comment 3 Ryan Kaldari 2010-12-28 20:54:17 UTC
CentralNotice is fine for the component. Unfortunately, I won't be able to look into this for a few days since I'm swamped getting stuff ready for the premiums campaign.
Comment 4 Ryan Kaldari 2011-01-05 17:49:29 UTC
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to look into this before the campaign ended. I imagine it was some sort of caching issue. Since the campaign is over now, I'm going to mark as invalid, but my apologies for not being able to investigate further.
Comment 5 Chad H. 2011-01-05 17:50:43 UTC
Wouldn't it make sense to verify it fixed before next year's campaign?

Or are we going to reinvent the wheel again next year ;-)
Comment 6 Ryan Kaldari 2011-01-05 18:27:12 UTC
Fair enough. I'll see if I can reproduce it or not.
Comment 7 Ryan Kaldari 2011-01-05 20:53:05 UTC
I tried reproducing this in CentralNotice and I could not get a value more outdated than 10 minutes (the length of the squid cache). It's possible there was a problem with a specific banner that has been fixed. Unless anyone else can reproduce, marking WORKSFORME.
Comment 8 Pete F 2011-01-05 20:55:21 UTC
Worksforme too :) Thanks Ryan.
