Description Krinkle 2010-12-12 14:46:01 UTC
When editing a page I usually press Tab to get in the edit summary after which I press enter and thus submit the form (save the page).

When adding a new section to a talkpage (&section=new) the heading for the message is placed before the editbox[1] and there's nothing after the editbox, so pressing tab in the editarea and pressing enter results in a blank search action being submitted and I have to press the Back-button of the browser to get back from the search-results-page to my edit-screen which, fortunately in most cases is saved in the browser, I then submit by pressing Save page manually.

It would be nice if it's possible to tab out of the editarea and submit by pressing enter (pressing enter within the editbox does not do this, since a textarea simply adds a line-break)

Have you ever seen this tab-out-of-a-textarea behavior before? I don't think I have and I've always thought the browsers wouldn't allow it.

Trevor, is this even possible?

I went to https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Cmcmahon%28WMF%29&action=edit&section=new and put my cursor in the editbox and hit Tab, and the "watch this page" checkbox was the next selected element. So I'm marking this not reproducible. Please reopen if I've missed something.
