On Wikipedia, we some times get reuqests from registered users to deal with global IP blocks. Unfortunately, these users get a message which doesn't give their IP address or their block log entry, and we can't solve that problem because that information isn't one of the variables available to us. In the attached URL, you can see a user trying to help us find the block - wth local blocks it's easier, since the block screen gives them all the information we need to find the block.
True. Also when stewards receive requests from users affected by global IP blocks we have no way to know which block is affecting them. Parameter $5 added in r96267 It might take quite some time before it is updated on Wikipedia. If wanted, this revision can be merged with Wikimedia wikis.
