Dear People, When I try to upload the article from my server, first I get a message stating it's not possible or there's an issue with taking the file extension .doc. I tried changing the file extension of the article but it wouldn't take it then either. What file extension does the artile I want to upload have to have to be uploadable to Wikipedia? I have only so many file extensions on Word 2002 that I can put on the article for now, at least until I buy Word 2003. It's a very timely article that I wrote just today, with extremely valuable information regarding RSS, Atom and ROR/RDF XML code files. Thank You, Karen Peralta Executive Director Rainbow Writing, Inc. PS The article will not be timely for more than another two months or so. But its facts will still apply, probably for several years, to the general Internet using public.
Created attachment 654 [details] This is the article I tried unsuccessfully to upload to Wikipedia. I have nothing more to say--the Wikipedia website makes it incredibly difficult to find anyone to report that one has difficulty uploading an article in simple .doc format. The attachment is in another file format, and it wouldn't take that one, either!
The upload feature is for multimedia, not text. Text contributions should be added directly the articles in question using the edit feature. However: I suspect you need to read this before submitting your contributions: [[Wikipedia:Copyrights]]. You may also find [[Wikipedia:Introduction]] quite insightful. Also, I will say that .doc is anything but simple. On the other hand, HTML from .doc is just plain junk.
