after two threads in our local Village Pump ( http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Caf%C3%A9/Portal/Archivo/Propuestas/2010/02#Importacion http://es.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Caf%C3%A9/Portal/Archivo/Propuestas/Actual&oldid=41790292#Importaci.C3.B3n_Transwiki ) please enable in Spanish Wikipedia transwiki import from all the sister projects in Spanish (Spanish wikibooks - wikiquote - wikiversity - wiktionary - wikinews - wikisource) and English Wikipedia. Thanks in advance

Additional notes:

This ability should be granted initially to the whole sysop group, and later will be discussed, after an initial period, if a separate group (akin to rollbackers) will be created, but that would be a future new ticket

Sysops are by default able to make transwiki import (see Special:ListGroupRights). Once the sources are added they'll be able to do it via Special:Import.

There's no need to create a separate user group of importers because it already exists, it is called 'transwiki importers' and can be added by the stewards at meta. That group allows you to make transwiki importing as sysops can do.

Paralel, an 'import' group exists too but it allows you to make direct importing via XML file. Its usage is discouraged since XML importing is insecure.

the most used source for translations wasn't added: english wikipedia
