Description Svip 2010-11-13 01:38:08 UTC
The user contribution special page already includes protections, moves, etc., so why not deletions? And I am not talking about edits that has since been deleted, I am talking about the deletions themselves.

Because those events do not show up in the page history, they show up in the logs. User contributions do not show all admin events... they don't show blocks, either. As far as I know, events only show up in the contributions page if they show up in some page's history.

Indeed:

Works just like Special:Contributions, but with log actions, type in a user name etc.

I think there's a reasonable argument to be made that a full log of contributions (all actions: edit, delete, protect, etc.) should be available at "Special:Contributions".

I understand the distinction between the logging and revision tables, but the current implementation is misleading and confusing, especially given that certain actions (namely protections and moves) do end up in the revision table/Special:Contributions while most other actions besides edit do not.

There are a couple of options here. You could change Special:Contributions to include everything. Or you could add another Special page that combines the current Special:Log and Special:Contributions.

This bug feels like a duplicate.

But a duplicate of what?

It's not a duplicate until proven otherwise. Sometimes requests like this can feel like duplicates due to their more obvious nature, but that's not more than a feeling currently.
