Description Purodha Blissenbach 2010-10-18 20:30:44 UTC
Last year, the ISO 639-3 was extended.
The code "sgs" for Samogition has been added,
see: http://www.sil.org/iso639-3/documentation.asp?id=sgs

We were using (nonstandard) "bat-smg" for Samogiton already, but now, we should
consider a transit to the new code. This is best begun be the creation of the
respective aliases in the DNS for starters.

Marked as dupe of bug 25522. Adding an alias alone is not sufficient.

I just want to pile-on and say I totally agree here. We shouldn't be just adding aliases in cases like this ever -- we should be moving the wiki completely.

I know that aliases are just an in-between-step reducing the likelyhood of
soon-to-be outdated links to be created.
Moving the wiki is of course the final solution.
