Description Thesevenseas 2010-10-16 15:52:38 UTC
Pages that are fully protected indirectly through cascade protection and have no protection or semiprotection directly on the page itself have an "edit" tab rather than a "view source" tab. Also, {{PROTECTIONLEVEL}} doesn't recognise cascade protection. Since the the cascadeprotected message only displays on cascade protected pages, it may be possible to use the code behind the dislaying of this message to fix this. Thanks.

I think these checks are disabled for 'casual' protection level checks like the ones you mention and only enabled when it really matters (i.e. when really deciding whether the user can edit) because they're expensive.
